Tubbs looks at Castillo (Andy Garcia), but Castillo is not surprised by the news. Castillo tells Tubbs that it was partly his idea. Cassidy's life is still in danger since the charred body they believe belongs to Lowe hasn't been identified yet. Crockett tells Tubbs that he does truly have feelings for Cassidy, but for all intents and purposes it was his cover identity Sonny Burnett who married her since nobody is likely to harm her if she's with someone with Burnett's dangerous, albeit fictitious, track record.

Trudy (Megalyn Echikunwoke) is as doing her make up to go undercover as a hooker for a sting operation. Meanwhile, Tubbs and Switek enter Club Dynamo for a drug deal. Zito and Gina (Katrina Law) wait pretend to be part of the crowd waiting to get in to the club. When Tubbs and Switek tell the bartender why they're there, he only allows one of them to go into the back area, so Tubbs goes while telling Switek to hang tight. When Tubbs makes it to the back, a man takes Tubbs into a room and pulls a gun on him. Crockett and Trudy are waiting in Crockett's Ferrari in the parking lot. The rest of the team overhears Tubbs at gunpoint over their radios. Zito wants to move in, but Crockett says they should wait until Tubbs gives them the word first. The rip-off artist run out of the bar and escape into his car. Trudy and Crockett pursue them in the Ferrari through the city streets and finally corner them in an alley. A gun battle ensues, and Trudy ends up killing the thief. After ward, Trudy appears visibly shaken.

Castillo is briefed on the situation and Tubbs is certain their cover wasn't blown since they he got ripped off before he even got to the other party for the deal. Castillo tells the team that Internal Affairs will probably be taking a look at the shooting, but he's confident that everything was done by the book. Tubbs, seeing that Trudy is not herself asks her if everything is alright, and she tells him that she doesn't want to be alone. Tubbs offers to take her out to get a drink and she accepts.

Cassidy Davies (Julianne Hough) worried about Crockett being gone all night, calls her assistant and best friend Angela (Jessica De Gouw) to come over. Angela reminds Cassidy that she's married to a cop now. His hours are going to be weird and he's not going to be able to tell her everything, but that's going to be par for the course with someone like Crockett. Angela asks Cassidy if being with Crockett will be worth dealing with all that to her. Cassidy nods her head and says she wants to be with Crockett.

Tubbs and Trudy are at a bar having drinks when Tubbs' phone rings. It's Cassidy asking if Crockett is with him. Tubbs says Crockett isn't with him, but they were working a case late and just got done. She says he isn't answering his phone. Tubbs says not to worry, Crockett has never been very good about answering his phone. Tubbs suggests that Crockett may have gone to his boat out of habit, or to feed his pet gator Elvis. Trudy thinks it's nice that Tubbs was helpful with Cassidy and gets up. She grabs him by the hand and they walk out of the bar. They head back to Trudy's place there they have sex. Afterward, Tubbs confesses that he's not exactly emotionally available as he has lingering feelings for Valerie Gordon. Trudy tells him not to worry about it. She had never killed anyone before and felt bad about it. She just wanted to feel something else.

Crockett is sitting on his boat alone, fishing off the side when someone approaches him. Crockett instinctively pulls his gun and turns around. He sees Cassidy standing there, terrified. Crockett grabs her and hugs her, apologizing. She said she just wanted to make sure he was okay and couldn't get a hold of him. He tells her that his phone died, but she has nothing to worry about. She tells him that she has good news. The record label like her new single and want her to head out to Los Angeles for publicity. He tells her that is great news, well, aside from her leaving town. She tells him that she'll work on getting used to his dangerous job, if he works on getting used to her own hectic job. He says that sounds fair enough.
