Hitman 1.6 - Breach

Hitman: Breach
Genre: Action
Director: Francis Lawrence
Writer: Dwight Gallo
Based on the video game series
Cast: Ed Skrein, Charlotte Riley, Ulrich Thomsen, Will Arnett and Karl Roden

Plot: The International Contracts Agency headquarters in Greenland is on high alert after it has been discovered that all of contracts Agent 47 (Ed Skrein) has been assigned have been contracted by the same person, which is a violation of company policy. 47 sits calmly in his room in the barracks, but he clearly knows something is going on in the facility.

Diana Burnwood (Charlotte Riley) and ICA Director Erich Soders (Ulrich Thomsen) are sitting in his office discussing the matter. Soders is concerned about how much of the situation Agent 47 potentially knows already. She believes that he knows some of it, but not all or he wouldn't still be at the facility. He tells her that the tech team is still trying to figure out how they were so badly deceived, and that in the meantime the same mysterious client has requested yet another contract, this time on the head of a doctor in Romania. She asks him if they are going to accept the contract, and he tells her that he isn't sure yet. One the one hand, an additional contract could uncover additional clues regarding who is taking out the contracts, but at the same time he is hesitant due to the ethical breach that has occured. He asks her for her opinion on the matter. Diana tells him that she thinks they should take the contract, but keep close eyes on 47 in case he uncovers something that he doesn't divulge to the agency. Soders thanks Diana for her suggestion and tells her to get 47 ready and briefed.

Diana sits down with Agent 47 to tell him about his latest mission. This time he will be sent to a remote insane asylum in Romania where he will be tasked with killing one of the doctors there, a Dr. Kovacs. Agent 47 silently listens to the details of the job, all the while knowing that he's being sent to the asylum he spent his childhood in, and probably being sent there to be killed.

Agent 47 hikes through the Romanian mountains on his way to the asylum. He stops in a small village, taking in the sights before continuing on his way. When he finally reaches the asylum he finds that the place looks like it has been abandoned. He sees a light on in one of the windows and decides to head up the stairs.

When 47 makes it to the office with the light on, he finds Dr. Kovacs (Karl Roden) looking over some papers. Kovacs looks up, but does not recognize 47. Agent 47, however, recognizes Kovacs, calling him "the one with the needles". He overpowers Kovacs easily, and stabs Kovacs in the eye with one of his own needles. 47 notifies Diana that the job is done, but then he suddenly hears the sirens of half a dozen SWAT vehicles. 47 mutters "shit." He then hears yelling from down the hallway. He quickly moves down the hall and finds Agent Carlton Smith (Will Arnett) locked up in one of the cells. He lets Agent Smith out of the cell and demands to know what is going on. Smith tells 47 that his handlers instructed him to head here to keep tabs on 47, but he was captured before 47 even arrived.

Gauntlet 1.7 - Week 8

Gauntlet - Week 8
Genre: Sports / Drama
Executive Producer: Antoine Fuqua
Writer: Matt Parker
Cast : William Fichtner, Josh Duhamel, Trevor Jackson, Eric Roberts, Saffron Burrows, Jimmy Tatro, Gaius Charles and Reid Scott

On the team's day off, Jefferson Thomas (Trevor Jackson) is busy shooting a music video for his debut rap single. He gets caught up dancing with dozens of beautiful women and drinking champagne on camera, completely forgetting that he was supposed to go to the team's practice facility for a drug test. Coach Ken Heath (William Fichtner) sits in his office at the facility waiting for Thomas to show up to fulfil his end of their arrangement. Thomas finally notices the time and chastises his agent, Eli Towns (Reid Scott), for not reminding him to head to the practice facility. Towns says he didn't think it was a big deal since it's the team's day off. This infuriates Thomas, who then fires Towns on the spot. He then gets in his car and races to the team's practice facility. When he gets there, Coach Heath is walking out to his car in the parking lot. Thomas apologizes and begs his coach to give him another chance. They had inside, and Thomas supplies Heath with his urine sample. Thomas is about to leave, but Coach tells him to stick around to see the results first-hand. Thomas takes a seat and waits. The urine comes up clean. Thomas thanks his coach and leaves the facility.

At the next practice, Thomas runs the wrong route on a passing play. Tim Collins (Josh Duhamel) gets on his case and begins yelling what the correct route is. Thomas gets in his face and tells him to back off. The two players start shoving each other. The other players and coaches break the two up. Coach Heath orders them back into the locker room. Practice is over for the two of them. Heath tells backup quarterback Chase Kearney (Jimmy Tatro) and running back DeSean Jones (Gaius Charles) to start running the plays with the first team.

Collins has dinner with his girlfriend Mayor Sharon Matthews (Saffron Burrows) where he vents about practice. She reminds him that he is the veteran player while Thomas is the rookie and that he should be leading by example. Collins acknowledges that she's probably right.

In the locker room before their game against Cleveland, Coach Heath announces that Kearney and Jones will be starting the game, while Collins and Thomas will be sitting on the bench. Everyone is shocked, even the other coaches are befuddled. Everyone tries asking Coach Heath about the decision, but he simply heads into his office and locks the door. He looks over the scouting report for Cleveland as he waits for the time when the team needs to head out through the tunnel and out to the field. The team stares at Heath through the window of his office. Heath calmly closes the blinds.

At the start of the game, even the announcers are shocked to be announcing that Kearney and Jones are starting in place of Collins and Thomas. They discuss the possible reasons why, with them citing the previous game where the two players were jarring at each other. The Pharaohs quickly go down by 14 by the end of the first quarter against the Cleveland Cougars. The cameras are fixated on Collins and Thomas parked on the bench - on opposite ends. They glance over at each other as the Cougars score another touchdown, bringing the score to 21-3 in Cleveland's favor.

At half time, the Pharaohs' owner Leonard Palmer (Eric Roberts) storms into the locker room and demands to speak to Coach Heath. They head into the office and Palmer begins screaming about why Heath isn't playing his two most explosive offensive players with the playoffs within reach. Heath tells them that Collins and Thomas knew the deal and they chose to defy the team rules, thus they are riding the bench. Palmer tells Heath that if he mucks up the season he's done, before storming out of the office and locker room.

Kearney manages to throw a touchdown to Jones to bring the score up to 21-10. But on the Pharaohs' next posession, Kearney throws a pick-six to the Cougars, resulting in a 28-10 score. On the sidelines, Collins walks over to Thomas and extends his hand. He tells him to shake it while the cameras are watching. Thomas shakes his hand. Collins tells him that they may have different styles and different personalities and may be from different generations, but they have one thing in common: the team needs them. They agree to put their differences aside. Together they walk up to Coach Heath and tell them they're ready to play together. Coach Heath tells them to head into the game immediately.

With Collins and Thomas back at the helm of the Pharaohs offense they quickly score a touchdown and a two-point conversion to bring the score to 28-18. After a successful onside kick, they score another touchdown on a deep pass to take it to 28-25. Coach Heath tells his defense that they need to keep the Cougars from getting a first down or the game is done. The defense forces Cleveland to punt. The Pharaohs get the ball back with 25 seconds left of the game. Collins throws a screen pass to Thomas who takes the ball up-field and into field goal range with 9 seconds left. Coach Heath calls his final timeout to talk things over with his offense. Coach Heath tells his team that they have one chance to win it, but that the pass will need to get out of Collins' hands immediately if they want the chance to hit a field goal to tie if they can't score a touchdown on the play. Collins nods and relays the play back to the huddle. Thomas lines up on the play as a wide out. Collins takes the snap and hurls the ball toward the end zone. Thomas runs as fast as he can to keep up with the ball. He dives after the ball, catching it in the corner of the end zone to win the game 31-28. Palmer celebrates in the owner's box, while Coach Heath takes a big sigh of relief.

Plot: Miranda Jones (Lesley Manville) struggles to turn off her alarm clock and she has to go out of her enormous bed to stop it. François (Gilles Marini), her French chauffeur, is already waiting for her outside. From the looks on her face, you can see that she cried. She puts makeup on her face and when she’s outside, she asks Gilles how she looks and he says she looks beautiful. She kisses him on the cheek and they leave for the agency.
Andrea (Caroline Dhavernas) and Wilson (Brian d’Arcy James) are already hard at work when  Robert (Rainn Wilson), or Bob, for short, arrives. They tell him that he is late, also indicating that Miranda is late. He tells them to keep it down, his has a terrible headache.  Robert says it’s not his fault, his kids were hard to endure this morning, they gave him a headache and he was late because of them. He asks her who they are meeting with today and she says he’s not ready to deal with her, especially after the rough morning he had. She’s needy, contemptuous; a real diva. She gets on your nerves so easily. At the same time, Miranda arrives and she orders Wilson to go get her a coffee and a muffin at the store, she’ll text him which flavors she wants. She doesn’t even acknowledge them and she closes her door. As Wilson passes behind them putting his jacket on, Bob asks Andrea is she was the diva she was just talking about.

Andrea and Bob meet with their liaison agent Desmond (Chris Colfer), the man who links their client with them and assure that they do their job properly. Bob reminds him that he’s the kind of guy you don’t like to see and Desmond says it’s great to see Bob too. Andrea asks Desmond if the director is on set, but Desmond says he’s not and won’t return until the star comes out of her trailer. Bob wonders why Andrea wants to meet the director so bad and he wonders if this is one of her artsy film she likes so much. She says it’s the set of a horror erotic thriller, so maybe he’d want to see it. Bob asks what’s wrong with the star and she says she doesn’t like to be told what to do. She’s a supermodel, so she’s used to act that way. Andrea wants to meet with her and they follow Desmond to the trailer.

When Wilson comes back from running the errands for Miranda, he’s surprised to see a delivering truck next to the door and delivery men moving stuff inside. He enters inside and gives his bag to Miranda. He asks her what’s happening and she says the place looked like death, so she bought new furniture. Wilson doesn’t need to worry, everything will be put in the same place as before, but they’ll have better desks, chairs and computers, but Wilson is worried. He asks Miranda to come with him and he sits on the floor, turning on his old laptop. He shows Miranda the agency’s bank account, they don’t have enough money for all this, things aren’t as good as she seems to think they are. She says she doesn’t care about that, because she couldn’t imagine working in a place like this, it looked horrible, but now she will be able to do it, because she likes how it looks. Wilson lets out that she never does any work and he does all his job and Miranda hears him. She suggests that he teaches her how to do her job, so she asks what’s supposed to be on her schedule today. Wilson gets nervous and he remembers, there was a meeting, in the office, with their financial backer, to get an extension on their loan. Wilson says it will be hard to convince him they need more time to pay back when he comes in here. Miranda doesn’t understand why, but when she sees Wilson looking around, she understands. They’ll ask to meet elsewhere and Miranda will try to charm him, but Wilson is not convinced, as opposed to Miranda, who’s fully confident.

Bob and Andrea meet with star and model Barbara Palvin (Barbara Palvin), who refuses to come out of her trailer, because she doesn’t think people around here think she’s a real actress and they just “use” her for her looks. She asked for an acting coach and they refused, they have to keep the budget tight. Desmond looks at her disapprovingly. He adds that she also asked for her private chauffeur, for a bigger trailer and for costumes that would showcase her looks more. Barbara breaks down and she says that she can’t help it, she’s a diva and she knows it. She knows she can act needy at times, but at the same time she really wants to break out as an actress, a serious actress. Andrea leans forward and she whispers that they will give her a little performance bonus in her contract, so she can make more money and buy all sort of things with it. She will also try really hard to book her another role, a serious role. Barbara looks at her confused and she nods approvingly. She tells Desmond that she’s ready to come out now and to please, make Bob leave the trailer, she doesn’t like his vibe. Andrea looks at her disapprovingly and she finally understands and says she’s sorry, but he’s so… not good looking. She apologizes again and she says she really can’t help it, as Bob leaves the trailer, hurt. Outside, he asks Andrea what she told Barbara and she says she’ll give her a bonus, they agency is floating with money anyway.

Miranda is putting lipstick in the bathroom and when she leaves the room to leave with Wilson to the restaurant where they set the meeting, she’s surprised to see him, looking nervous. They look outside and their financial backer, Mark (Bill Nighy) arrives and he sees all the delivery men installing the new furniture. He says they aren’t so desperate for money after all and he leaves, leaving Miranda and Wilson in shock. At the same time, Andrea and Bob arrive and see Mark leaving. They enter and see their colleagues, asking what happened, as Wilson sits on the floor, devastated.

Survivor: Last Resort: Cape Verde 1.7 - Episode 7

Survivor: Last Resort: Cape Verde 1.7 - Episode 7
Writer: Chad Taylor

When everyone gets back to camp, they start trying to piece together the vote. Rajon is honest about having voted for Chad. Since the other Chad vote was Bonds, the question begins to be who voted for Francis. Francis is angry and wants answers. Everyone tries to absolve themselves but he is having none of it.

We see Francis in a confessional. The very first thing he says is that he decided to vote for himself last week. He was never truly in danger and found himself torn between two groups of allies. So instead of burning bridges with either Rajon or Chase and Laura, he wanted to make an impartial vote. Now the fun begins: who should he pin it on? Now that he knows that all of the former Togo members are voting together, he decides that it has to be one of them. Chad is the clearest physical threat of three, which makes him a target every week going forward. Jim and Jose, meanwhile, are players that he notices are working in the margins and he wants to try to out them.

Francis blames it on Jim since he thought he was the target last week. In response, Jim - an analytical thinker - breaks down the reasoning each person had to vote the way they did. Fiona and Megan were avenging Sally. Chad and Laura weren’t voting out Chad due to a previous promise and knew that Bonds was a power broker in the game. And the three Togo’s were just happy that it was anyone but them. Which leaves Francis, who is close with both Rajon and Francis and Laura. So he voted for himself to not get any blood on his hands.
In confessional, Francis says “Well, shit. They figured it out.”

Next is a individual reward competition. Chase wins it and is allowed to pick three guests to take with him on a private feast of Cape Verdean cuisine. He chooses Laura first, obviously. She whispers to him and recommends they take Rajon. His fourth and final pick is Megan.

At the feast, Laura explains to Chase in private that he needed to choose Rajon. Francis is clearly thinking about himself and so he may not be their closest ally. Since Rajon is a free agent now, they may as well try to pick him up. Rajon is very grateful for them choosing him and they all enjoy the feast. Megan can get along with just about everyone so she is having the time of her life. Talk moves to alliances and they all agree that, now that Sally and Bonds are gone, they should focus on voting out the remaining Togo.

Back at camp, Francis is bummed that he wasn’t chosen. He feels like he might have one too many shady moves and it is affecting the trust people have in him. Jim and Fiona talk more than they ever have before. Since Jim is good at reading people, she worries that he may catch on to her lying about her past profession. Luckily, he was pretty young when her band was most successful so she’s able to maintain her relative anonymity.

Meanwhile, Chad and Jose are scheming on their own. They talk about what they will do if they win. Chad would buy his dad a new home and take over the one they are currently living in for himself. Jose asks if he thinks living with his dad is hampering his prospects as a bachelor but Chad shoots that down - his dad is his best friend and he wouldn’t change that for the world. Meanwhile, Jose reveals to Chad a little project he has been working on: a fake hidden immunity idol. He has slowly been gathering materials and has strung them together to look like a passable idol. He is going to hide it, with the hopes that one of the Brava members finds it. They debate whether or not to tell Jim as he is still an uneasy ally. They won’t for now but will play it by ear.

In the immunity challenge, the castaways would have to go through an obstacle course of digging underneath a log, crossing a balance beam, and under a rope crawl. The castaways would then run across a field to where a spinning series of ten mathematical symbols would be displayed. The castaways would have to memorize the sequence of symbols, run back to starting line through the obstacles, and use the symbols in the correct order to solve a math equation. The first castaway to solve the math problem correctly would win immunity.

Chase, Laura, and Chad dominate the course and reach their symbols first. However, they did not memorize them correctly so head back. By this time, the rest of the castaways have made it through and reach the symbols. Everyone is having struggles with either memorizing the symbols or solving the math problem. However, Francis, one of the last to complete the course initially, chooses to slow down when he reaches the symbols and remember them in one fell swoop. This works as he gets to the platform and is the first to successfully solve the problem.

In a confessional, Francis says that he was worried a target was on his back so he really needed this. He explains that most phone numbers have ten digits so he read the symbols in his mind like a phone number and repeated it in his head. And then being an engineer didn’t hurt in solving the math problem, either.

Back at camp, it soon becomes clear that the battle lines are pretty clearly drawn: Togo vs. Brava. The Togo members find themselves out-numbered 3 to 6 but are not ready to give up. Chad tries to connect with Chase but it is clear that the promise they made at the pre-merge Tribal Council was only a one vote thing. Chad, Jose, and Jim convene and try to figure out someone to target. They want to break up the power couple but aren’t sure who to push for. Jose is persistent that it must be Laura. Everyone else is too worried about challenge-ability but they need to consider the long game. He watched how she convinced Chase to take Rajon to the feast and so it seems that she is the brains behind the organization.

They are aware that Rajon is a free agent so Jose tries to schmooze him first. However, Rajon does not forget that they left him in the dark in the last vote. He tells them maybe. Afterwards, Rajon talks with Francis but things aren’t as close as they were before. Still, Rajon acts like he is with him for now and they talk about whether their options this week and decide it is best to stick with Chase and Laura (which is what Francis prefers).

Jim’s last-ditch effort is to talk with Fiona and try to build upon their rapport from earlier. He lays out Togo’s reasoning for targeting Chase and Laura and it actually gains some traction. She tells him that most of the people are wanting to get rid of the former Togo members but she will talk with Megan to see what she thinks. He thanks her and tells her that even if she doesn’t vote with them this week, he understands.

At Tribal Council, the castaways pour one out for Jim Bonds and Kaiser, two of the most colorful characters out there. Laura points out that since they were both larger-than-life personalities, it has left a void and the remaining castaways are now put in a position to turn on each other. When Jeff asks how they are making their targets now, Jose says that everyone is taking a different approach. Some want to stick with old alliances, others want to take out physical threats and others want the schemers. So, basically, chaos.

Jeff follows up on the old alliances note, pointing out that Bonds was just voted out despite being in the majority tribe. Fiona laughs and says that Bonds was always more about himself than Brava. Rajon objects to this, considering he and Bonds tried to vote with their former Brava members last vote, only to be betrayed. Megan says that they will now have to start thinking less about former tribes and more about who you can beat in the end. Jim looks at Jose curiously, as they wonder if their push worked. Chase says that, while they will have to turn on each other eventually, the former tribes give you a blanket of security as it is better to stick with what you know. Jeff tells them it is time to vote.

First vote...Laura

….Laura

…….Chad

…..Chad

2 votes Laura, 2 votes Chad

….Chad

….Laura

….Chad

….The eighth person voted off of Survivor: Last Resort and the second member of our jury...Chad. The tribe has spoken.

In his post-show confessional, Chad says it was always going to be hard for the Togo to survive with such a big numbers gap. He is proud of the work they did in the Bonds vote, especially since he was being targeted. He hopes that Jose and Jim can pull off a miracle but he also doesn’t really hate anyone out there. He hopes that his dad is proud of the work he did.

Votes for Chad: Laura, Chase, Fiona, Megan, Rajon, Francis
Votes for Laura: Chad, Jose, Jim
