The James Morgan Show 3.11

With the second half well underway, we're currently thinking about our second half, so I have a breaking news for you.

With the end of Survivor: Last Resort last season, it left a hole in our schedule for viewer participation and it looks like the studio has found a suitable replacement, only this time, it will be a scripted show, so it will be eligible for awards. You're probably intrigued by that now, but rumors are that a number of writers were contacted a long time ago for their interest to participate in this project. More details will be revealed next week and our viewers will be required to fill out a quick survey as part of this reveal. We are excited to see what this show can become with your help.

Here are this week's ratings:

1. CRIME OF THE CENTURY: LEOPOLD & LOEB (UP 1)
Writer: Lon Charles / Executive Producer: Bennett Miller
Things are moving along really nicely with this latest episode that gives its cast some great scenes to work with. With how strong this initial season of Lon Charles' anthology series has been (plus his work on Manson), I'm already getting curious to see what next season's crime will be.

2. ROLLING STONE (DOWN 1)
Writer: D.R. Cobb / Executive Producer: Oliver Stone
Rolling Stone is still arguably the best series on LRTV right now, but this latest episode was just a bit of a letdown following the great "key party" episode.

3. HITMAN (UP 1)

Writer: Dwight Gallo / Executive Producer: Francis Lawrence
I really enjoyed getting to see Carlton Smith's home life in this episode. Is he maybe not quite as incompetent as he has seemed all this time?

4. SHOWTIME (UP 2)
Writers: Mo Buck & Chad Taylor / Executive Producer: Steven Soderbergh
This latest episode had some great behind the scenes locker room drama that was tense and entertaining. Barry Keoghan gave probably his most interesting performance of the series so far.

5. L.A. NOIRE (DOWN 2)
Writer: John Malone / Executive Producer: Gavin O'Connor
I liked seeing faces like Christopher Abbott and Daniel Webber back in the cast after a little time away from the proceedings of the series. Clearly the season is getting closer to the end of its mystery, so color me intrigued.

6. SHE-HULK (UP 1)
Writer: Chad Taylor / Executive Producer: Phoebe Waller-Bridge
I found this episode pretty entertaining in its mano a mano approach between Jenny Slate and Ron Perlman (with an assist from Michael Richards).

7. CALL MY AGENT (-)
Writer: Dominic Wilkins / Executive Producer: Jason Reitman
After a week away, Call My Agent came back pretty strong with a fun appearance from Paul Dano in character as Pee-Wee Herman.

8. MIAMI VICE (DOWN 3)
Writer: Roy Horne / Executive Producer: Peter Berg
This episode just felt incomplete. It seems like Horne is trying to get us toward the death of one of the team that was teased, but it is just happening a little awkward with this episode.

9. THE SURVIVORS (DOWN 1)
Writer: Mo Buck / Executive Producer: Tomas Alfredson
The Survivors is getting pretty wild. I can barely keep track of the plot and character motivations, but I'd be lying if I said it hasn't been entertaining of late.

10. BOREAS (DOWN 1)
Writer: Ann Morrow / Executive Producer: Mark Romanek
Thriller might not be the right genre for these last couple of episodes. Post-apocalyptic drama maybe? After an exciting first few episodes, the momentum of the story feels like it has slowed down a lot lately.

11. THE CONTROLLERS (DOWN 1)
Writer: Jimmy Ellis / Executive Producer: Dan Trachtenberg
This episode seems to have wrapped things up in a nice bow for the season, and kept things far more coherent than some other episodes.

Last week you learned about a new series to come at the network for Season 3, but now it's time to learn about another new series:

The Laws of Justice : Joining the cast of the Dominic Wilkins and Mo Buck co-writing projects are Jerome Flynn (Game of Thrones, The Dark Tower), Bradley Whitford (Superman: The Man of Tomorrow, Get Out) and Justin Theroux (Human, The Powerpuff Girls). Flynn will play the arrogant diffusor who air the show written by Domnhall Gleeson and Andrew Scott's characters, while Whitford and Theroux will play the eccentric starts of the show.

Can You Hear Me?  : Joining Kristen Stewart, Maya Hawke, Gabourey Sidibé and Maude Apatow are Megan Mullally (Will & Grace, Parks and Recreation), Robin Tunney (Leaving Everything, The Fix), CCH Pounder (Avatar, NCIS: New Orleans) and H. Jon Benjamin (Rubber City Rockers, Plastic Man). The three women will play the three completely different mothers of the three main characters, while H. Jon Benjamin will play the controversial role of a male prostitute who dresses up like a woman who the girls encounter and benefit from his wisdom. The Ann Morrow written and Marielle Heller produced drama dark comedy is based on the French Canadian series of the same name.

Laughing : The network has ordered to series a dramedy from writer Chad Taylor (Mortal Kombat II, Showtime) and executive producers Mark and Jay Duplass (Togetherness). The show will follow a group of comedians who do a sketch comedy show together. Zazie Beetz (To the Moon, Deadpool 2) and Wyatt Russell (Doctor Love, Pressing Luck) have signed on to star on the show.
