Plot: Sonny Crockett (Josh Holloway) is drinking at a marina bar when he sees a man start to get handsy with one of the waitresses. He hears her tell the man to stop, but he grabs her. Crockett drinks the rest of his beer before promptly smashing the bottle of the man's head, knocking him unconscious. The man's friends jump Crockett and drag him outside where they proceed to beat him up badly with a 2x4 piece of wood. Rain begins to fall down on Crockett's unconscious body as a tropical storm begins replacing the Miami sun.
Ricardo Tubbs (Taye Diggs) is laying in bed with Trudy Joplin (Megalyn Echikunwoke). He confides in her that he is worried about Crockett's mental state since Cassidy died. Trudy says that Tubbs should give Crockett a call. Tubbs tries contacting Crockett, but his phone keeps going to voicemail. Tubbs tells her that his money would be on Crockett being in a drunken stupor currently.
In the morning, Lt. Martin Castillo (Andy Garcia) tells Tubbs and Larry Zito (Troy Garity) to head out to Crockett's boat to look for him since he hasn't checked in for more than a day. When they get to Crockett's boat, all they find is a hungry Elvis. Zito gives Elvis some food while Tubbs looks for clues to Crockett's location, noticing that Crockett's car isn't in the marina parking lot.
Castillo tells Gina Calabrese (Katrina Law) to try to locate Crockett by finding his cell phone signal. She manages to track the phone down to a bar, so Castillo sends Gina and Stan Switek (Brad William Henke) out to the bar. When they arrive, they don't find any trace of Crockett. Gina shows the bartender a picture of Crockett, and he tells her that Crockett got into a fight with a group of men the night before, but he didn't see him after they all went outside to have it out. Gina and Stan look around outside the bar. Gina eventually finds Crockett's phone on the ground next to a dumpster along with his wallet. Stan notices some blood on the pavement outside of the bar and takes a sample of it.
The crime lab confirms that the blood sample is a match for Crockett. Worried, Castillo issues a force wide APB to locate Crockett. He tells the team to start checking the hospitals within close proximity of the bar. The searches of the hospitals turn out to be fruitless though and the mystery continues. Tubbs, exhausted, heads home to get a few hours of sleep.
When Tubbs arrives at his building, he finds Crockett passed out by his front door. Tubbs drags Crockett inside. Crockett is badly beaten and doesn't remember how he got there. The last thing he remembers is hitting a man with a beer bottle who was being rough with the waitress. Tubbs calls Castillo and tells him that he's located Crockett and that other than being pretty banged up is okay. Castillo is relieved. Tubbs takes Crockett to the hospital where it is revealed that Crockett has a couple of broken ribs and a concussion, but is otherwise alright. Tubbs tells Crockett that he's worried about how Crockett has been spending his time since Cassidy's murder. Crockett once again assures Tubbs that there is nothing to worry about. Crockett then gets up and leaves to go to OCB. At OCB, Castillo asks Crockett if he's really ready to be working after what happened to Cassidy. Crockett tells him that he is. Castillo then tells him to keep his priorities straight then.
