New Orleans, Louisiana - Angela Bathory (Amber Valletta) meets with Jorge Wolfe (Oscar Jaenada). Bathory has the ability to summon Daemites, parasitic serpent-like creatures. Wolfe tells her to head to Morton, Mississipi and unleash her daemites upon the town to kill all of the members of the Brimstone Society so that he may collect the heart of the ancient demon Beliar, which the society may have stored in their vaults.
Belgrade, Serbia - Kagan (Manu Bennett), the vampire overlord who leads the Cult of Kagan, is readying his children for their trip to America. He tells them to head to a state known as Mississippi. By the time they arrive, Bathory's daemites should have already decimated the population of the town they need to head to, so all they'll have to do is locate their half-sister, Rayne. Kagan's children Ephemera (Lydia Hearst), Ferril (Meghan Ory) and Xerx (Daniel Cudmore) are loaded into a shipping container for their trip to avoid any sunlight on their journey to the other side of the world.
Back in Morton, Severin (Tom Riley), the Brimstone Society's chief weapon maker gives Rayne an upgraded version of her twin blades to test out. He tells her that he made them lighter and and more durable. Meanwhile, Bathory has arrived in Morton, and begins unleashing her daemites on the town. The daemites begin taking over the townspeople, forcing themselves inside the bodies and wrapping themselves around the spinal cord and tapping directly into the hosts' nervous systems. The daemites control the body of their hosts and are incapable of feeling pain. Tremaine alerts the rest of the Brimstone Society that the town is under attack, so it might be a good time to test Rayne's skills.
Mynce and Rayne head above ground and find the town run amok by daemite hosts. Mynce and Rayne attack the daemites, by chopping off their heads and limbs, but the creatures quickly regenerate, regrowing the body parts. Tremaine tells them that he's encountered the creatures once before and that the only way to kill the daemites is to sever the host's spinal cord. Rayne draws out her new and improved twin blades and cuts a host in half at the torso, killing the creature. Realizing there won't be a town left if they half to kill all the hosts, Tremaine and Severin search for the person controlling the daemites on a series of security monitors, revealing that the Brimstone Society has cameras all throughout the town. They spot a woman, Bathory, sitting on a balcony in town.
Tremaine heads to the roof of the town's church with a sniper rifle. He aims the rifle at Bathory on the balcony. He fires, hitting her in the head. However, her head quickly regenerates. She then sets her sights on Tremaine, sending several host-less daemites towards Tremaine. Rayne notices this and heads up some stairs to the balcony to confront Bathory. Sharp bones emerge from Bathory's arms, and she stabs Rayne in the shoulder. Rayne pulls the Bathory's bone out of her arm, breaking it off of Bathory. She then throws the bone at Bathory, who avoids it by jumping off the balcony to the ground below, and begins running away. Rayne leaps down and begins chasing Bathory down. Rayne chases her all the way to a quarry outside of town. Rayne tells her she has nowhere to go now, so she has to fight. Bathory begins summoning more daemites from the ground, but Rayne kicks Bathory, sending her falling down into he quarry several hundred feet below.
Rayne walks back to Morton, and finds the residents of the town are no longer possessed by daemites, but many already had to be killed during the fight. Mynce tells Rayne that she got lucky, and shouldn't go running after a supernatural creature all alone until she's completed her training. Rayne and Mynce butt heads about this and almost come to blows before they are broken up by Tremaine and Severin.
Back in Serbia, Kagan's associate Dariel (Ludi Lin) enters the castle and reports to Kagan. He tells Kagan that Wolfe's associate, Bathory, failed her mission. Unhappy with the report of failure, Kagan rips one of Dariel's eyes out and eats it. Dariel screams in agony on the floor. Kagan tells him that now he will see what Dariel sees.
