Plot: Mary (Cara Buono) is on her way out of the office building with her colleague Rita (Yaya DaCosta) and on their way to the parking lot, Mary receives a call on her cell phone and requests Rita’s help to answer. She gets a call from Sarah (Odeya Rush), asking her to come by immediately. Mary starts to panic and asks if anything happened and Sarah says it’s about Charles. She enthusiastically asks if he’s back and she says it’s in the video they got. Mary isn’t impressed and she says that she shouldn’t watch that video over and over again. Sarah says something about it changed. Mary hangs up calls the home phone to speak with Horace (M. Emmet Walsh) and asks him what’s going on with Sarah and Charles and he says the kid is missing a finger in the video. She hangs up and tells Rita to drive faster, there’s something going on at home. Rita asks if anything’s alright with her husband, she hasn’t seem him for a while after all. Mary gets uncomfortable and changes the subject, indicating she hasn’t told Rita that Gerald left with Charles. When Mary gets home, she runs straight to Sarah’s room where she watches the video with her and Judy (Jodelle Ferland). She asks them if they’re sure he wasn’t missing a finger before and they say they’re positive. Mary thinks it can’t mean anything. It must be people messing with them, nothing would surprise her anymore. She shuts down Sarah’s laptop and asks her to drive her brother to soccer practice, she can’t do everything in this house.

Once the car appears on top of Mount Royal, Victor (Michael Mando) throws Gerald (Brendan Fraser) and Charles (Logan Lerman) out and disappears as quickly as he arrived. Gerald is covering Charles’ finger so it doesn’t bleed out. With no cars or means of transportation around, they have no choice but to leave by foot, heading for the city.
In pain, Charles has a hard time to move and says he should get to a hospital and Gerald doesn’t think they can get in a hospital just like that with a missing finger, they’re going to ask questions and it’s going to be hard to justify. People start giving them weird looks and they ask if they need help. Gerald keeps walking and tells everyone they’re alright. A man touches Gerald on the shoulder and he pushes him away because of the tense situation, but he keeps coming back. He calls Gerald by his name and it catches his attention. He turns around and he recognizes Arthur (Zeljko Ivanek) who says he can help him.

Sarah is driving her brother Marco (Owen Vaccaro) to his soccer practice. As Marco looks outside, he says out loud that he likes it here and he secretly wishes they never go back. He says he has his friends here and everything is more fun and simpler. Sarah says she feels the same way, but she misses Gerald though. Marco says he misses him too and he wishes he’d be with them now so everyone can be happy. Sarah stops at a red light and looks to her left and in an alley. She sees three men going down a manhole and she recognizes Gerald and Charles. She turns left on the red light and nearly gets hit. She parks the car and they leave on foot to try to catch their father and their brother. Marco asks her if she’s sure it was Gerald and Charles and she swears it was them. Sarah calls her mother and says she has seen Gerald and Charles. Mary thinks her daughter is going crazy, but Sarah is confident that it was them. She asks her daughter where she is and Sarah says she saw them go down a manhole and she wants to follow them. Mary doesn’t want her too and Sarah reminds her that she’s almost an adult now and she can do what she wants before hanging up and going down the manhole.

Not far away from there, Gina McRae (Krysten Ritter) is answering to call a disturbance and all clues indicate it was Gerald and Charles, but Gina doesn’t know they were there. She quickly dismisses the case, saying whoever it was they’re going to turn up in a hospital somewhere and it’s a waste of resources to have her chase two men and one missing a finger. They could be anywhere by now. She gets a call on her personal phone and on the other end is Mary, who asks if she remembers her. Gina says of course she remembers them, it’s not everyday that you meet people who traveled in time. She asks them if everything is alright and Mary says that’s why she was calling. She tells them everything that happened in the past few months and that Sarah claims to have seen them go down a manhole and now she’s afraid something is going to happen to her daughter. She asks Gina if she can go over and make sure everything is alright. Gina says it’s a big ask, but she can do that, her family has been through enough already.

Sarah is careful in the sewers, but is unsure where to go next. Marco is right behind her and he notices blood droplets on the ground with his cellphone light. They follow the trail and once they get closer, they start hearing screams of pain coming. Sarah runs in that direction and asks for Marco to stay behind, but he insists on following her. She finds herself in front of the door and opens it, with her father and brother standing in front of her.
