Tubbs tells Crockett that he really thinks he shouldn't be working right now with every thing he's gone through recently. Crockett says that he is fine to work today. Tubbs stands in Crockett's path to get into the building and asks Crockett when the last time he saw his son was. Crockett says too long, not since before Cassidy was killed. Tubbs says that's too long and suggests Crockett go see him and he'll talk to Castillo for him. Tubbs shakes Crockett's hand and tells him to go relax and see his boy, the squad can manage without him for a few days. Crockett gets back into his car and pulls away from OCB. Tubbs goes into the office of Lt. Martin Castillo (Andy Garcia). Tubbs tells Garcia that he convinced Crockett to take a few days off, Castillo says that Crockett needs it.

Crockett drives north to Jacksonville where his ex-wife moved. The house is bigger than he expected and right off the water. He knocks on the door and is surprised that the door is opened by Bob Vaughn (Adrian Pasdar). Crockett asks who he is, but before Bob can answer Crockett's ex-wife Caroline (Amanda Righetti) comes to the door and greets him. Bob introduces himself as Caroline's fiance. Caroline shoots him a look and apologizes to Crockett for not telling him yet. Crockett is clearly stung by the news, and asks where his son is. Caroline says he's playing video games in the living room and leads Crockett through the palatial house, giving a mini tour on the way to the living room. Crockett comments that Bob must do well for himself. Caroline explains that Bob owns a commercial real estate company. They finally make it to the living room where Billy Crockett (Iain Armitage) is playing a video game. Billy sets the controller down and runs over to hug his father. Caroline asks what their plan is. Crockett says he is going to rent a boat and take Billy fishing. Bob says that Crockett doesn't need to rent a boat, he has one that he can let them use. Bob and Caroline lead Sonny and Billy to a boat dock behind the house where Bob shows off his boat. Bob asks Crockett if he knows his way around a boat, and Caroline tells him that Crockett literally lives on a boat. Bob laughs and tosses the keys to the boat to Crockett, saying it sounds like his boat will be in good hands.

Later that day, Crockett and Billy are out on the open ocean on Bob's boat. Billy is sitting in the sun, playing a game on his phone. Crockett feels something bite on his fishing rod. Crockett says it's a big one and tells Billy to put his phone down and come help him reel the fish in. Crockett and Billy struggle to bring the fish in, and the fish breaks free from the hook. While Crockett gets the hook ready again, Billy points out to an object in the water and asks his father what it is. Crockett gets the boat closer and fishes the object out of the water with a fishing net. When he gets it onto the deck of the boat he instantly realizes that they've found a package of cocaine. He explains to Billy that it is drugs and that they are going to turn the package in to the Jacksonville Police.

As Crockett and Billy are on their way back to the shore with the recovered package of cocaine, they see another boat quickly approaching them. Crockett tells Billy to put a towel over the package and sit on it, and to not say anything to whoever the people are - just act natural, he says. Billy picks up his phone and starts playing a game again. Crockett checks to make sure he has his back-up gun with him and tucks it in the back of his shorts. The boat comes even closer, and the driver (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.) begins waving at Crockett. The driver introduces himself as Omar and asks Crockett if he's seen anything floating in the water. Crockett shakes his head no. Omar explains that he works for a shipping company and they must have lost some of the ship's cargo earlier in the day and his boss is going to rip him a new one if he can't find the missing cargo. Crockett says he hasn't seen anything. Omar pulls out a gun and asks Crockett if he minds if he takes a look around his boat for it. Crockett says he does mind, but that he's not going to say no with a gun aimed at him. Omar begins tethering his boat to Crockett's. Crockett rushes over and kicks Omar in the head and tells Billy to take the boat's controls. Billy pushes the throttle forward, and the boat lunges forward. Omar falls into the water, but quickly climbs back on board of his boat and gives chase. Crockett aims his gun at Omar's boat and begins firing. Omar fires back, putting several bullet holes in Bob's boat. Crockett tells Billy to get down and take cover. Crockett aims again and manages to hit the engine of the speedboat driven by Omar. The engine begins smoking and the boat slows down. Crockett gets back behind the boat's controls and heads for the harbor.

Crockett calls 9-1-1 and informs the dispatch that he is a Miami police officer and alerts them that an armed drug runner is on a broken down boat at sea not far from the Jacksonville harbor. Crockett takes Billy with him to the station to deliver the package of cocaine to the Jacksonville PD. They ask him a ton of questions, but Crockett tells them that they already know as much as he does on the matter and walks out of the station with his son. They go back to the harbor to pick up Bob's boat and start driving it back to the house. Crockett comments that he hopes Bob doesn't mind a few bullet holes in his boat. Billy says that he thinks Bob will understand, assuring Crockett that Bob is pretty nice guy.

When Crockett and Billy get back to the house, Caroline and Bob are waiting at the dock. They say they heard about what happened on the news. Crockett says that was fast and apologizes to Bob for bringing his boat back with a few brand new bullet holes. Bob surveys the damage and jokes that it adds character. Not many people can say their boat was shot at by drug runners. Crockett says that way more can say that than he would prefer. Billy suggests to Crockett that they continue fishing, but at the dock this time. Crockett says that sounds good to him. While they fish on the dock, Billy asks his father if his job is like that every day. Crockett nods his head and puts his arm around Billy.
