I hope you're not tuning in for some hot gossip about Last Resort Television, or else you'll be disappointed, but anyways, welcome to the James Morgan Show!
This episode will serve as a friendly reminder that we will hit your screens tomorrow with the start of the Golden Reel-winning series Nez Perce's sophomore and the debut of Mo Buck's first television series, The Survivors, starring Golden Reel winning actor Brendan Fraser and Cara Buono.
I have some more information about how this season will work. The increasing number of shows also mean more posts per day, so our schedule will slightly change to reflect this change. We will now post three times per days on weekdays, twice on Saturday and three times on Sunday. For example, tomorrow, we'll release Nez Perce at 10 am EST, the Survivors at 4 pm EST and a new rotating segment (replacing a cancelled series) at 10 pm EST and it will be like this everyday except for Saturday, where we post only twice. I hope that's clear and I'll wish everyone a great season of television !
Before I call it a day, I have to introduce a new segment to the James Morgan Show that will come back every week from now on. You know how I was always looking for segments ideas last season to give a little boost to my show? Well, someone answered my call and it might be surprising to old-time LRF viewers given our… history, but I'm happy to introduce to you ….
Power Rankings with Jeff Stockton! Basically Jeff will do a power ranking with every show week after week and give a short blurb to let you know he ranked it there. I hope you appreciate this new feature and thank you to Jeff Stockton ! So, without further ado, here's

1. NEZ PERCE
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: Dwight Gallo / Executive Producer: Scott Cooper
A power house historical drama (with war and western elements), Nez Perce has stood above the rest of the network since Episode 1. I eagerly waited for each episode last season, and I expect similar anticipation with Season 2.
2. ROLLING STONE
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: D.R. Cobb / Executive Producer: Oliver Stone
While the show was a bit formulaic early on, writer D.R. Cobb quickly figured out how to utilize the lead characters as a conduit to a different era. Josh Hartnett knocked the lead role out of the park, but hopefully the supporting cast has a little more to do this time around.
3. CALL MY AGENT
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: Dominic Wilkins / Executive Producer: Jason Reitman
A late addition to the Season 1 line-up, Call My Agent quickly established itself as a fun, satirical look at show biz.
4. MANSON
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: Lon Charles / Executive Producer: Antonio Campos
The highest ranking new show on the list, Manson possesses quite the behind the scenes pedigree with director/executive producer Antonio Campos and writer Lon Charles. Not to mention that Jim Sturgess seems like spot-on casting for a young, aimless Charles Manson early in his criminal career.
5. L.A. NOIRE
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: John Malone / Executive Producer: Gavin O'Connor
Writer John Malone joins the LRTV network with an adaptation of the great period cop drama video game. If Torso is any indicator, the show could be something special.
6. GAUNTLET
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: Matt Parker / Executive Producer: Antoine Fuqua
While it was a macho soap at its core, Gauntlet made several daring choices with its characters throughout its first season, leaving me excited to see what writer Matt Parker and Executive Producer Antoine Fuqua have in store for the second season.
7. SHOWTIME
(Last Week: N/A)
Writers: Mo Buck & Chad Taylor / Executive Producer: Steven Soderbergh
It will be interesting to see if the series can successfully balance the genres as well as Doctor Love, but either way it is a highly anticipated series featuring some talented actors.
8. SHE-HULK
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: Chad Taylor / Executive Producer: Phoebe Waller-Bridge
While She-Hulk is not the most exciting character Marvel Comics has to offer, the idea of the creator of Fleabag teaming up with Chad Taylor for a superhero sitcom is very enticing.
9. BURNT PRAIRIE
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: Chad Taylor / Executive Producer: James Ponsoldt
I'm a sucker for a small-town sports-themed drama (Friday Night Lights, anyone?), so you can count me interested in seeing this show.
10. RUBBER CITY ROCKERS
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: D.R. Cobb / Executive Producer: David Wain
A cast of virtual unknowns doesn't have this very high on my list, but the concept is intriguing and the network can always use more in the way of comedy.
11. HAVE GUN - WILL TRAVEL
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: Dwight Gallo / Executive Producer: Frank Darabont
Walton Goggins as a dandy gunfighter is spot-on casting, but I worry that the show is going to pale in comparison to Gallo's other period piece.
12. HITMAN
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: Dwight Gallo / Executive Producer: Francis Lawrence
Hitman had a spotty first season. It started strong, then meandered through the middle of the season, but then caught some more steam at the end of the season. I'm just not sure which version of the show we're going to get to start the second season.
13. MIAMI VICE
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: Roy Horne / Executive Producer: Peter Berg
Like Hitman, Miami Vice had an up and down first season. The casting in the lead roles is great, with Holloway and Diggs having strong chemistry, but the procedural style of the show is a bit old-fashioned for my taste.
14. THE SURVIVORS
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: Mo Buck / Executive Producer: Tomas Alfredson
I'm having a hard time picturing how this series is going to work. Obviously there is a strong pedigree involved behind the scenes and in front of the camera, but I don't know enough about this sci-fi mystery to put it much higher than this to lead off the season.
15. HYPE
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: Dominic Wilkins / Executive Producer: Stephen Merchant
The cast is all over the map in terms of quality, with it losing points for the inclusion of Alicia Silverstone and Gabriel Iglesias. I think the idea is interesting, but being a comedy, it's success is ultimately going to come down to one question: is it funny?
16. SURVIVOR: LAST RESORT
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: Chad Taylor
The first season was solid, that is until all of the interesting contestants (like Jim Bonds and Kaiser Phillips). After that point, the series struggled a bit. Hopefully this season has some strong and entertaining) contestants.
17. HUMAN
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: Ann Morrow / Executive Producer: Michelle MacLaren
I'm not a fan of any of the lead actors, so despite the potential of the premise I'm going to have to rank this one toward the bottom of the line-up - at least to start. I tend to be a sucker for sci-fi though, so this one could very well climb up the rankings if it's good.
18. LA MAUPIN
(Last Week: N/A)
Writer: Ann Morrow / Executive Producer: Michel Hazanavicius
I hope the show turns out to be good, but nothing I've heard about the show - from its French historical setting to its struggles to lock down a lead actress - have me all that excited.
